Über die Autorin
„Nicole Böhm wurde 1974 in Germersheim geboren. Sie reiste mit 20 Jahren nach Phoenix, Arizona, um Zeichen- und Schauspielunterricht am Glendale Community College zu nehmen. Es folgte eine Ausbildung an der American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, bei der sie ihre Schauspielkenntnisse vertiefte. Das Gelernte setzt sie heute ein, um ihre Charaktere zu entwickeln. Sie lebte insgesamt drei Jahre in Amerika und bereiste diverse Städte in den USA und Kanada, die nun als Schauplätze ihrer Geschichte dienen.
Nach einigen kleineren Engagements kehrte sie zurück nach Deutschland, wo sie als Assistentin einer Rechtsabteilung arbeitet. Cover
Die Cover gefallen mir immer sehr gut. Sie haben so einen schön mystischen Touch und es sind immer Objekte oder Wesen zu sehen, die auch in dem jeweiligen Buch eine Rolle spielen. Die Hand in Ketten spiegelt hier sehr gut die Situation wieder, in der unsere Protas sich momentan befinden.
Über das Buch
Jess, Jaydee und die Seelenwächter befinden sich in einer ziemlich verzwickten Situation. Während Ralf Violet in seiner Gewalt hat, und durch die einer bösen Macht Zugang zur Welt verschaffen will, spielt Joanne weiterhin ihr perfides Spiel mit Jaydee. Da sie von seiner Empathie erfahren hat, quält sie ihn, indem sie Jess an ihn gekettet hat, und Jaydee droht unter den auf ihn eindringenden Gefühlen wahnsinnig zu werden. Währenddessen befinden sich die anderen Seelenwächter noch immer auf dem Anwesen in der Wüste, dem Pfeifzauber ausgesetzt, der ihren Geist langsam zu zerstören droht. Gibt es einen Weg, zu entkommen?
Wie schon aus den ersten Bänden bekannt, wechseln auch hier die Perspektiven zwischen den Charakteren hin und her. Jess und Jaydee stehen dabei im Vordergrund und werden im 7. Band vor allem durch Szenen um Benjamin Walker, den Detective aus Riverside Springs, ergänzt. Ich mag Benjamin ziemlich gern, sein indianisches Erbe ist faszinierend, und ich bin schon gespannt ob wir noch herausfinden werden, warum er immun gegen Magie ist. Er ist zielstrebig, hilfsbereit und clever, und ich hoffe sehr, er bleibt uns noch ein bisschen erhalten, um als praktischer Link in die „normale“ Welt zu dienen. .
Am Anfang gab es wie immer eine kurze Zusammenfassung der vorangegangenen Ereignisse, was ich immer sehr praktisch finde, um dem Leser alles kurz und knapp wieder in Erinnerung zu rufen. Danach ist man dann direkt bereit, weiterzulesen. Mittlerweile sind wir bei Band 7 von zunächst 12 geplanten Bänden, womit wir uns dem Finale unaufhaltsam nähern. Das hat man auch an diesem Band gemerkt, denn das Tempo war ziemlich hoch und die Ereignisse haben sich förmlich überschlagen. Die Charaktere tun einem richtig Leid und haben eine Verschnaufpause bitter nötig. Viele Fragen sind noch immer ungeklärt, und ich bin schon gespannt, ob bis Band 12 alle meine Fragen beantwortet wurden. Denn noch immer ist nicht klar, was es mit der Verbindung von Jess und Jaydee auf sich hat, und auch die Bedeutung des Jadesteins bleibt weiterhin ein Geheimnis.
Fazit
Der 7. Teil war rasant und spannend und es ist der Handlung deutlich anzumerken, dass sich die Lage immer weiter zuspitzt. Am Ende gab es, natürlich, wieder einen Cliffhanger, und ich kann den nächsten Band kaum erwarten. .
Ein großes Dankeschön geht wieder an den Greenlight-Press Verlag, der mir auch den 7. Band als Rezensionsexemplar zur Verfügung gestellt hat.
