Das Cover finde ich
sehr schön gelungen. Es erzeugt bei mir eine mystisch-melancholische
Grundstimmung, die sehr gut zum Inhalt des Romans passt. Obwohl das
Cover dem Inhalt nicht eindeutig zugeordnet werden kann finde ich es
daher dennoch gut gelungen.

Das
Buch lässt einen eintauchen in ein Barcelona am Anfang des 20.
Jahrhunderts. Davids Vater ist ein vom Krieg geschlagener Mann, der
von seiner Frau verlassen ihm einen kleinen Sohn hinterlässt, mit
dem er nicht so recht etwas anzufangen weiß. So erlebt man mit wie
David ohne Mutter, aber mit einer Liebe zu Büchern aufwächst, durch
die er den Zorn seines Vaters auf sich zieht. David erkennt früh
seine Liebe zu Büchern, eine Eigenschaft, die ihn uns begeisterten
