Alana Falk wurde 1980 geboren und lebt mit ihrem Mann und ihrem Kater in München. Seit sie in den USA für einige Monate eine High School besuchte, ist die englische Sprache ihre Leidenschaft. Aus diesem Grund entschied sie sich im Laufe der Jahre gegen eine naturwissenschaftliche Laufbahn und übersetzt heute Romane. Besonders gerne liest sie düstere Liebesgeschichten, die ans Herz gehen und wehtun. Der Wunsch, solche Geschichten selbst zu erschaffen, weckte ihre Begeisterung für das Schreiben.

Es beleibt nicht viel Zeit, um sein Vertrauen zu gewinnen, denn in den Tiefen unter Neuseeland braut sich eine schreckliche Katastrophe zusammen und nur Liliana und Chris können sie aufhalten.

Nun, was sol lich zu diesem Cover sagen? Es ist irgendwie typisch Jugendbuch, aber es passt sehr gut zum Inhalt und noch dazu glitztert es ganz toll.
Über das Buch
Die junge Liliana lebt in Auckland und gehört einer Gemeinschaft an, die sich für den Schutz der Menschheit einsetzt. Denn einige Mitglieder der Gemeinschaft sind Magier, und mit Hilfe einer Quelle, können sie magische Energie kanalisieren und formen, um damit zum Beispiel die Natur zu beeinflussen. Für Liliana steht der Moment kurz bevor, an dem auch ihr eine Quelle zugeteilt werden soll, und sie endlich ihr magisches Potential auch in der Praxis erproben soll. Doch ihre Quelle öffnet sich ihr nicht, und dabei läuft ihnen die Zeit davon…
Das Buch erzählt die Geschichte zweier Charaktere. Zum einen ist da die junge Liliana, die sich ganz der Gemeinschaft und ihrer Aufgabe im Dienste der Menschheit verschworen hat. Ihre größte Sorge ist es, die Erwartungen, welche ihre Eltern und die Gemeinschaft an sie stellen, nicht erfüllen zu können. Als sie mit der Quelle Chris verbunden wird, gleicht es einer Katastrophe, denn während Liliana alles tun will, um den Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden, verweigert sich Chris ihr und erfüllt seine Aufgabe als Quelle nicht. Als zweiten Handlungsstrang folgt man der Magierin Adara, die ihre Quelle verloren hat, und sehr unter diesem Verlust zu leiden hat. Sie hegt Zweifel am System der Gemeinschaft, und als sie mit einer neuen Quelle verbunden werden soll, tut sie alles, um es hinaus zu zögern und ihrem eigenen Weg zu folgen.
Die Charaktere in diesem Buch waren sehr unterschiedlich, und einige hätte ich gerne noch viel besser kennen gelernt. Liliana war mir im ersten Moment sympathisch. Sie nimmt ihre Aufgabe ernst, auch wenn sie Angst vor dem Versagen hat. Doch sie tut ihr bestes. Immer wieder blitzt in ihrem Verhalten dann allerdings eine Arroganz durch, die sie mir immer wieder unsympathisch machte, auch wenn man ihren Gedanken dabei gut folgen kann. Ich hatte es ein bisschen schwer mit ihr, aber alles in allem passte sie sehr gut, und harmoniert sehr schön mit Chris, bzw. bildet einen schönen Kontrast, denn die beiden könnten nicht unterschiedlicher sein. Genau dieser Unterschied macht ihre Beziehung zu etwas spannendem. Chris mochte ich sehr gern. Er ist ein interessanter Charakter, wenn auch manchmal ein wenig Stur und ungestüm. Die Magierin Adara war stark von ihrem Verlust gezeichnet, was sie immer wieder manchmal nicht besonders gut nachvollziehbaren Aktionen getrieben hat. Aufgrund der Umstände fand ich es aber sehr passend, und habe ihre Kapitel sehr genossen. Die Nebencharaktere wie Lilianas Bruder Naos und dessen Quelle sind leider etwas zu kurz gekommen. Aber ich hoffe, dass wir sie im zweiten Band vielleicht noch ein bisschen besser kennen lernen dürfen.
Besonders gut gefallen hat mir an dem Buch diese neuartige Idee der Magie. Magier sind zwar in der Lage, diese zu formen, können sie aber nicht selbst aus der Umwelt ziehen sondern benötigen dafür Menschen, die ihnen als Quelle dienen. Aber auch diese Fähigkeiten hat nicht jeder, sondern nur bestimmt Menschen. Und nur zusammen sind sie stark. Es war sehr schön und anschaulich beschrieben und war auch sehr gut in das Setting einer modernen Welt integriert.
Die Geschichte fand ich spannend und schnell zu lesen. Durch die wechselnden Perspektiven zwischen Liliana und Adara gab es immer wieder kleine Spannungspeaks und natürlich ein großes Finale am Ende. Das Ende hat mir dann auch besonders gut gefallen und ich fand es sehr passend, wenn auch einige Fragen offen geblieben sind. Außerdem schafft es Alana Falk mit ihrem schönen Schreibstil, ein gutes Kopfkino zu erzeugen, ich konnte mir vielen nämlich richtig gut vorstellen. Ich bin auf jeden Fall sehr gespannt auf den zweiten Band.
Fazit
Mit hat „Sternensturm – Das Herz der Quelle“ insgesamt sehr gut gefallen. Es war spannend und magisch und hat beim Lesen eine schöne Atmosphäre erzeugt. Vor allem das Magiekonzept und die Beziehungen der Charaktere haben es mir angetan, auch wenn ich über einige gern mehr erfahren hätte. Ich freue mich definitiv auf die Fortsetzung.
