Valentina Fast wurde 1989 geboren und lebt heute im schönen Münsterland. Beruflich dreht sich bei ihr alles um Zahlen, weshalb sie sich in ihrer Freizeit zum Ausgleich dem Schreiben widmet. Ihre Leidenschaft dafür begann mit den Gruselgeschichten in einer Teenie-Zeitschrift und verrückten Ideen, die erst Ruhe gaben, wenn sie diese aufschrieb. Ihr Debüt »Royal« entwickelte sich aus einer ursprünglichen Kurzgeschichte zu einer sechsbändigen Reihe.

Der sechste Band trägt zwar nicht mein Lieblingscover, ist aber trotzdem sehr schön und fügt sich sehr gut in die Reihe ein. Mir ist tatsächlich auch erst jetzt aufgefallen, dass die Risse in der Kugel sich im Laufe der Bände nicht nur vergrößern, sondern auch an exakt der gleichen Stelle sitzen. Sehr gelungen.
Über das Buch
Viterra liegt in Griff einer Armee, die von Außen in die Kuppel eindringen konnten. Nur Henry und Tanya konnten gemeinsam durch einen der Geheimtunnel entkommen. Außerhalb der Kuppel herrscht Winter, und Tanya lernt nicht nur Schnee und Kälte kennen, sondern auch etwas über die Außenwelt. Doch obwohl sie draußen eine sichere Zuflucht finden, kommt Tanya nicht zur Ruhe und schmiedet schon bald mit Henry einen Plan, ihre Freunde in Viterra zu befreien. Doch wem kann sie wirklich trauen?
Tja, was soll ich sagen. Royal hat endlich ein Ende – „Gott sei Dank ist es vorbei“, war mein erster Gedanke nachdem ich die letzte Seite gelesen hatte. Im Laufe der letzten Bände ist mir Tanya ja zunehmend unsympathischer geworden, denn soviel Dummheit und Gefühlsduselei konnte ich nur schwer ertragen. Davon gibt es zum Glück im letzen Band ein bisschen weniger, und so konnte Tanya noch einmal eine Seite zeigen, die ich an ihr mochte – nämlich ihre Stärke, ihren Einfallsreichtum und ihren Dickkopf. Denn obwohl sie aus der Kuppel sicher entkommen konnte, und eine sichere Zuflucht gefunden hat, zerreißt es sie schier bei dem Gedanken an ihre Freunde, und sie setzt alles daran, einen Weg zurück zu finden und eine Befreiungsaktion zu starten. Dabei handelt sie tatsächlich mal relativ besonnen. Und natürlich steht ihr Henry – einer der wenigen wirklich tollen Charaktere – immer zur Seite.
Nachdem es fünf Bände lang Rätselraten gab, erfahren wir nun endlich, was außerhalb der Kuppel so los ist, und es wurde wirklich höchste Zeit. Einige Erklärungen fand ich zwar nicht wirklich ausreichend, aber egal. Gut fand ich, dass es diesmal tatsächlich einige spannende Szenen gab, in denen man nicht wusste was passiert, und sich tatsächlich mal nicht alles so entwickelt, wie man es sich am Anfang gedacht hat. Einige Entwicklungen haben mich nämlich wirklich überrascht.
Aber das Interessanteste ist wahrscheinlich für die meisten die Erklärung, warum Philipp so gehandelt hat, wie er es eben getan – und davon war ich sehr enttäuscht. Seine Erkläre ist so fadenscheinig, dass ich ihm am liebsten in jeder seiner Szenen eins übergebraten hätte. Bei mir ist und bleibt er unten durch, denn in meinen Augen war sein Verhalten absolut inakzeptabel. Aber was Tanya zu der ganzen Angelegenheit sagt, dass muss natürlich jeder selber lesen . Aber neben den bekannten Problemen haben Tanya und Co. auch mit Verrat zu kämpfen, denn einige Charaktere sind wirklich unglaublich. Und auch einiges am Ende hat mich überrascht.
Fazit
Der letzte Band von Royal beseitigt endlich eine große Anzahl der Fragezeichen, die sich im Laufe der Reihe in meinem Kopf angesammelt haben. Obwohl ich nicht alle Erklärungen zufrieden stellend finde, gelang es diesem Band mich stärker in seinen Bann zu ziehen als die Vorgänger. Tanya kann tatsächlich mehr als heulen und zeigt mal ihre starke Seite und einige Passagen sind wirklich spannend. Wer es bis hierher geschafft hat, sollte sich den letzten Band also nicht entgehen lassen.
