Über die Autorin
Krystina Kuhn, Nummer sieben von acht Kindern, wurde in Würzburg geborgen. Sie hat auf dem Dachboden lesen gelernt und sich dort Geschichten ausgedacht. Nach dem Abitur studierte sie Germanistik, Russisch, Polnisch und Kunstgeschichte in Würzburg, Göttingen, Moskau und Krakau. Nach dem Studium schrieb Kuhn zunächst Fachbücher bis sie im Jahr 2000 beschloss, Schriftstellerin zu werden.

Was soll ich sagen, die Cover dieser Reihe sind einfach klasse. Durch starke Farben zieht es gleich Aufmerksamkeit auf sich und bildet einfach ein ganz tolles rundes Gesamtbild. Für mich ist dieses Reihen-Design einfach nur fantastisch gelungen.
Über das Buch
In Blue Haven bleibt es weiterhin geheimnisvoll. Faye bekommt eine neue Diagnose von Liz – Eplilepsie. Doch als sie Medikamente dagegen nehmen soll, weiß sie nicht, ob sie Liz noch trauen kann. Zu viel ist passiert dass sie an ihrer Tante zweifeln lässt. Überhaupt ist es schwierig für Faye zu entscheiden, wem sie noch trauen kann. Denn auch Luke scheint Geheimnisse vor ihr zu haben. Doch gemeinsam mit ihren Freunden versucht sie dennoch herauszufinden, was sie für den Monday Club so bedeutend macht.
Wie schon im ersten Teil wird die Geschichte aus der Ich-Perspektive von Faye erzählt. Und man merkt so sehr stark, wie verwirrt sie ist, und zunehmend auch verstört, denn in diesem Band muss sie einiges einstecken. Und dann taucht auch noch ihre alte Psychologin Erica Meyer wieder in Blue Haven auf, mit der sie ein traumatisches Erlebnis verbindet. Ich fand Erica Meyer ganz schrecklich, sie war ein wirklich beängstigender Charakter und ich konnte Fayes Abneigung gegen sie sehr gut nachvollziehen. In diesem Band lernen wir auch die anderen Charaktere zumindest ein bisschen besser kennen. Es wird klar, warum Luke nach Blue Haven gekommen ist, und auch Fayes Freunde Josh, Ginger und Caleb spielen diesmal eine etwas größere Rolle, auch wenn mir bei ihnen weiterhin ein wenig die Tiefe fehlt.
Der Monday-Club ist eine Institution, über die wir auch in diesem zweiten Teil nur sehr wenig erfahren. Eigentlich kennen wir nur den offiziellen Teil, den auch Faye kennt, nämlich dass es sich um eine Wohltätigkeitsorganisation handelt, und auch Faye und ihre Freunde einmal in den Club aufgenommen werden, um ihrer Stadt zu helfen. Doch es wird immer stärker klar, das der Club ein ganz anderes Ziel verfolgt. Aber es bleibt weiterhin sehr rätselhaft und für eine endgültige Aufklärung setze ich alle meine Hoffnungen auf den dritten Band.
Die Story hat mir wie im ersten Band sehr gut gefallen. Es war spannend und geheimnisvoll und die ganze Zeit schwebte die Frage im Raum, ob es um etwas Übernatürliches geht, oder nicht. Denn was sollte an Faye wohl so besonders sein? Der Antwort darauf kommen wir im zweiten Band nun endlich etwas näher, auch wenn ich nach wie vor ebenso wie Faye von vielen Informationen verwirrt bin und sich in meinem Kopf noch kein Gesamtbild zusammenfügen lässt. Aber eben diese große Geheimniskrämerei ist für mich auch ein kleines Manko, denn es gibt nach wie vor einfach zu wenig Antworten, und über ein paar mehr Häppchen hätte ich mich sehr gefreut.
Fazit
“Monday Club – Der zweite Verrat” ist ein spannender und ereignisreicher zweiter Teil der den Leser weiterhin mit jeder Menge Geheimnisse auf Trag hält. Besonders die düstere Atmosphäre hat es geschafft, mich beim Lesen völlig in ihren Bann zu ziehen. Für Freunde von Geheimnissen ist Monday Club auf jeden Fall die richtige Lektüre.
