Mal höher schlägt, wenn diese tätowierten Schultern durch den Eingang
des Therapiezentrums rollen.

Wie schon im ersten Band wird auch hier die Handlung abwechselnd aus den Perspektiven der beiden Hauptprotagonisten geschrieben. Dadurch bekommt man einen guten Einblick in die Motive und Gedanken beider, was ich gerade bei Liebesgeschichten sehr mag. Callie ist eine tolle und mitfühlende Ärztin, die ihren Job liebt und bisher kein Glück mit Männern hatte. Dass sie ausgerechnet Hank nicht vergessen kann, obwohl er sich nicht an ihre Begegnung erinnert, macht sie wütend. Sie hat gern die Kontrolle über ihr Leben und ich konnte ihre Motive insgesamt sehr gut nachvollziehen, auch wenn ich mir manchmal gewünscht hätte, dass sie zu bestimmten Leuten auch mal „Nein“ sagt. Aber ich mochte sie sehr. Hank ist der typische Draufgänger und lebt für sein Snowboard. Feste Bindungen sind eher nichts für ihn, und als er nach einem Unfall plötzlich im Rollstuhl sitzt, fällt er in ein tiefes Loch. Zum Glück hat er gute Freunde, und eine Familie, die ihn unterstützt. Obwohl er auch ein bisschen Arschloch war, habe ich ihm aufgrund seiner Situation einiges nachgesehen, und er hat sich gut entwickelt.
Da es sich um einen Liebesroman handelt, dürfte das Ende ja jedem klar sein. Aber der Weg dahin war schön geschrieben. Es gab einige witzige Dialoge, traurige Szenen und eine Handlung, die ich insgesamt gut fand. Natürlich gab es keine großartigen Überraschungen, aber es war eine kurzweilige Unterhaltung, die nicht zu sehr abgehoben wurde. Außerdem wurden gerade zum Ende hin auf einige Aspekte verzichtet, die man vielleicht erwarten würde. Das fand ich super, denn so passte es einfach viel besser.
