Wie schon die anderen Cover der Reihe finde ich auch Frostglut sehr gelungen vom Design und freue mich, die Reihe bald komplett im Regal zu haben. Denn auch die Buchrücken sind ein echter Blickfang. AUßerdem bin ich sehr froh, dass man sich in diesem Fall mal nicht an den amerikanischen Covern orientiert hat, die für mich eher zum Einheitsbrei gehören.
Über das Buch
An der Mythos Academy geht es wieder einmal hoch her. Nicht nur, dass Loki wieder frei ist, und auch sein Champion noch immer auf freiem Fuß ist. Jetzt wird Gwen auch noch mit schweren Vorwürfen konfrontiert, Loki absichtlich befreit zu haben, und ihr steht eine schwere Verhandlung bevor. Da hilft es auch nicht dass der Vertreter des Protektorats ausgerechnet Logans Vater ist. Und während Gwen und ihre Freunde versuchen, Gwen vor einer Verurteilung zu beschützen, haben die Schnitter schon wieder einen neuen Plan geschmiedet, der Loki einen Schritt näher an die Macht bringen soll.
Endlich bin ich dazu gekommen, Gwens Geschichte weiterzulesen und war sofort wieder in den Bann der Mythos Academy gezogen. Diesmal bekommt sie es ja nicht nur mit den hinterhältigen Machenschaften der Schnitter zu tun, sondern wird auch noch aus den eigenen Reihen angefeindet. Und die Vertreter des Protektorats gehen dabei nicht gerade zimperlich vor und verhalten sich ziemlich unfair. Ich habe mich ziemlich darüber aufgeregt, denn ich kann solche Ungerechtigkeiten einfach nicht ertragen. Und in diesem Fall hat Gwen auch ein bisschen der Beistand ihrer Göttin Nike gefehlt, die dem Protektorat leider nicht einfach einen göttlichen A….tritt verpassen konnte. Das hätte die Sache sicher wesentlich vereinfacht. Immerhin ihre Freunde sind immer für sie da und versuchen alles, um Gwen zu unterstützen. Die ganze Bagage habe ich so richtig lieb gewonnen. Daphne ist einfach fantastisch, auch wenn sie manchmal eine kleine Tussi sein kann. Und auch Carson, Oliver und Kenzie gewinnen immer mehr an Profil. Und von Logan muss man natürlich gar nicht reden, er ist fantastisch und nach wie vor super geheimnisvoll, was ihn natürlich noch fantastischer macht. Und dann gibt es auch noch einen neuen interessanten Charakter, über den ich euch aber mal nichts verrate.
Die Handlung ist diesmal sehr abwechslungsreich. Es gibt nach wie vor die Beziehungsbaustelle von Logan und Gwen und die Bedrohung durch Loki und seinen Champion wird immer akuter. Das Protektorat verhält sich furchtbar, und auch Gwens Mitschüler fangen bald an, sie anzufeinden. Dabei ist es bewundernswert, dass sie sich weiterhin unglaublich bemüht, alle zu beschützen. An vielen Stellen tat sie mir richtig Leid, denn man hat ihr ziemlich zugesetzt. Das Ende konnte mal wieder mit besonders viel Action aufwarten, auch wenn ich das Gefühl hatte, das ein Teil davon irgendwie unnötig war. Auf jeden Fall bleibt es weiterhin spannend und ich bin gespannt, was uns in den letzten beiden Bänden noch erwarten wird.
Fazit
Frostglut – der vierte Band der Mythos Academy-Reihe war wieder einmal spannend und actiongeladen. Gwen und ihre Freunde mussten an verschiedenen Baustellen kämpfen und hatten alle Hände voll zu tun. Ich freue mich auf die Fortsetzung.
