Das Cover des Buches finde sich sehr schön gelungen. Es sieht schön aus und hat eine tolle Atmosphäre. Ich gehe davon aus, das es sich um den Genfer See und die Tore von „Atlantis“ handelt, dem Anwesen von Maias Familie am Genfer See. Und damit passt es auch hervorragend zur Geschichte.
Über das Buch
Maia und ihre Schwestern wurden allesamt adoptiert. Nach dem überraschenden Tod ihres Vaters hinterlässt dieser jeder seiner Töchter einen Brief, in dem er sie über das Geheimnis ihrer Herkunft aufklärt. Maia, die Älteste von ihnen macht sich daraufhin auf den Weg nach Rio de Janeiro, um ihrer Herkunft auf die Spur zu kommen. In Rio angekommen hilft ihr Floriano Quintelas, ein befreundeter Autor, für den sie ein Buch übersetzt hat, bei der Suche nach ihrer Familie. Ihre Suche führt sie einige Generationen zurück, in die Zeit der Erbauung des Christo und auf die Spur einer verbotenen Liebe.
Die Geschichte wechselt zwischen verschiedenen Erzählperspektiven hin und her. Am Anfang steht die Geschichte von Maia. Sie war mir sofort sympathisch, obwohl sie eine sehr ernste junge Frau ist, die ein sehr zurückgezogenes Leben führt. Aber natürlich erfahren wir auch etwas über die Vergangenheit und das Leben von Isabella. An dem Hörbuch hat mir hier besonders gefallen, das die unterschiedlichen Zeitebenen von zwei verschiedenen Sprechern gelesen wurden. So konnte man es auch beim Hören ganz wunderbar auseinander halten und ist nicht durcheinander gekommen.
Die Charaktere haben mir insgesamt gut gefallen. Besonders gefallen hat mir Floriano. Er ist trotz seines Verlusts so lebensbejahend und einfach super sympathisch. Und auch seine kleine Tochter ist einfach so mega niedlich. Die Charaktere haben die Geschichte wirklich gut zum Leben erwecken können, und ich habe das Hören sehr genossen.
Die Story war angenehm und ließ sich leicht verfolgen. Allerdings hat es am Ende etwas länger gedauert, bis das Ganze etwas an Fahrt aufgenommen hat und plätscherte zunächst erstmal so vor sich hin. Nachdem die Perspektive dann allerdings auch in die Vergangenheit schwenkt, wird es interessanter. Was ich etwas schade fand ist, das man über die anderen Schwestern bisher kaum etwas erfährt. Natürlich bekommt jede ihren eigenen Band, aber ein paar mehr Infos wären schon noch schön gewesen. Dafür hat mir aber vor allem die Story im Allgemeinen und Maias Entwicklung im Besonderen gefallen. Sie wandelt sich von einer zurückgezogenen jungen Frau in eine Frau, die das Leben wieder genießen kann, und diese Verwandlung war wirklich schön zu beobachten.
Sehr schön fand ich auch den Übergang am Ende, wo eine dritte Sprecherin die Perspektive von Ally, der zweiten Schwester übernimmt. Ich hoffe, dass sich das zweite Buch um sie dreht und dass sie auch dort wieder von Sinja Dieks gelesen wird. Ihre Stimme passte wirklich sehr gut und ich würde sie im zweiten Teil gern wieder hören.
Fazit
„Die sieben Schwestern“ ist ein schöner Auftakt zu einer neuen Reihe von Lucinda Riley. Die Story um Maia und ihre Schwestern konnte mich im ersten Teil gut in ihren Bann schlagen und hat mir sehr gefallen. Für Fans von Familien-Geschichten und Lucinda Riley Romanen ein sehr zu empfehlendes Buch.
